Fabrication Process

The production of WhipperSnapper involves an innovative approach to whiskey-making. It begins with a meticulous selection of grains, primarily a blend of malted barley and rye, which lends the final product its distinct character. The grains undergo mashing, where they are heated, and enzymes convert starches into fermentable sugars. The mash is then transferred to fermentation tanks where yeast is added, allowing fermentation to occur for several days, resulting in a beer-like wash. Following fermentation, the wash is distilled using a pot still, allowing for a careful separation of spirit from the wash. Once distilled, the spirit is aged in used whiskey barrels, contributing to its rich flavors while allowing for a shorter aging process without compromising complexity. The aging lasts for about two years, which is crucial in developing the harmonious balance of flavors.
