Fabrication Process

The fabrication of Aberfeldy 18 Year Old begins with the selection of pristine malted barley, which is combined with pure Scottish spring water. This mash is then transferred to fermentation vessels where yeast is added, prompting fermentation and yielding a low-alcohol wash. The resulting wash is then distilled twice in traditional pot stills, allowing the distillers to refine and concentrate the flavors. After distillation, the spirit is matured for 18 years in a combination of oak ex-bourbon casks and sherry casks.
