History

The Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. traces its roots back to 1889, when it was initially established by the E.H. Taylor family in Henderson, Kentucky. Under the direction of Corky Taylor, a great-grandson of the founder, the brand was revived in 2013, when Corky decided to bring back the family’s legacy of distilling. With an eye toward both tradition and innovation, the distillery opened its doors in Louisville in 2015, effectively merging historic craftsmanship with modern techniques in their state-of-the-art facility. Key milestones in the history of Kentucky Peerless include not only the revival of the brand in the 21st century but also the achievements in their products that have contributed to a strong following. The distillery introduced its first bottling since the prohibition era in 2015 with its signature rye whiskey. Additionally, the release of their High Rye Bourbon and various barrel-finished expressions demonstrate a commitment to pushing the boundaries of bourbon production. As they continue adapting to industry trends and consumer preferences, the Taylor family has ensured that Peerless maintains its reputation not only for quality but also for an adventurous approach to crafting whiskey.
