After several decades of growth and adaptation, the company began to expand through strategic acquisitions, including the notable purchase of Isle of Skye Blended Whisky in 1963. Following the acquisition by the Russell family in March 1963, significant growth facilitated a name change to Ian MacLeod Distillers Ltd in recognition of their evolving business model and expanding portfolio. By integrating Glengoyne Distillery and the Langs brands into their offerings, the company not only broadened its reach but also reinforced its commitment to high-quality whisky production.
